The Infresco fully variable regulator is designed to provide variable control for mains-driven loads, particularly quartz halogen infrared heat lamps, with a total rating of up to 1.5kW. This microcontroller-based unit features a 'soft-start' gradual switch-on function, which eliminates the lamp's initial high inrush current, potentially increasing the lamp life by up to 30%. The regulator's output levels are easily selected using up and down push-buttons, with a high-intensity LED indicating when the controller is regulating power to the lamp load.
This Infresco fully variable regulator boasts a cleverly designed relay override function, which is seamlessly integrated into its circuit design. When the controller is set to maximum power (100%), the relay bypasses the power (triac) and suppression (choke) devices. This innovative feature offers a significant advantage by helping to maintain a lower operating temperature for the unit's heatsink. When the relay override function is active, these components are not in use and, therefore, generate no heat. This not only prolongs the life of the components but also enhances the overall efficiency of the regulator. As soon as the power setting is adjusted below approximately 96%, the regulator smoothly resumes normal operation, maintaining optimal performance.
