Fire Stoves and Eco Stoves
Browse our selection of fire stoves and eco stoves. These units help to deliver warmth to an area through wood burning or other multi-fuel options.
Traditional Fire Stoves
A traditional fire stove is ideal for homes, outhouses, conservatories, as well as pubs restaurants and hotels. These units are designed for wood burning and multiple other fuels. The Eco Design Ready range is designed to burn logs and a variety of other materials such as peat or turf briquettes, coal, anthracite and other smokeless fuels.
If you live in a smoke control area, it is worth noting that you can only use smokeless fuel. If you want to burn wood, then you will need to purchase a DEFRA approved multi fuel stove.
What Is A Multi Fuel Stove?
A multi fuel stove is a stove capable of burning materials outside of just wood. The inside of a multi fuel stove is a little different to a wood burner. They feature a riddling grate that sits above the floor of the stove, which aids airflow to help combustion of smokeless fuels. The riddling grate allows for ash to then be collected in the ashpan which can then be cleaned out after use. It is important that the ashpan is cleared and cleaned regularly so that air can flow freely around the stove and fuels can burn efficiently.
Eco design is a new standard of stove that substantially reduces the particulates added to our atmosphere by the burning of wood. This is 80% less so than an open fire. The latest eco stoves really are more efficient and better for our planet than earlier designs. From 2022, wood burning stoves that are not approved as Ecodesigned will not be able to be sold.
