Clean, Safe and Energy Efficient Spot Heating
A ceramic heater is capable of providing safe, reliable energy-efficient heating to commercial, domestic and industrial environments. These units work by generating heat through a heating element and dispersing it through a ceramic material which heats quickly and retains a consistent warmth. The heat retention of these ceramic elements can help to both conserve energy and warm an area quickly, meaning that these heaters operate with minimal energy loss and cleanly, as no combustion gases are generated in the process.
Reliable Spot Heating With A PTC Heater
At National Heater Shops, we supply a range of ceramic heaters of different sizes. These heaters are reliable, trustworthy and have a variety of applications across industries. We stock heaters from reputable brands such as Sealey and Prem-I-Air.
Ceramic heaters are commonly used to warm garages, workshops, offices, caravans and can be used in domestic settings such as rooms in a house. Due to their efficiency, they are ideal as a temporary heating solution, but can also be used long-term as many models, such as the Sealey CH30110VS Ceramic Heater with Telescopic Tripod Stand 110v come equipped with a thermostat.
Many ceramic heaters are easily relocated, allowing for portable spot heating to take place. This means that they can be easily moved from one area to another depending on when and where they are needed. This saves both money and energy, as it can prevent the need to use central heating when only one area needs to be warmed up.
How Does A Ceramic Heater Work?
Ceramic heaters work by warming a ceramic element up and allowing heat to disperse naturally throughout. When one of these units is powered up, an electrical current is passed through this element, naturally causing it to warm up. Ceramic material maintains and retains warmth efficiently, so it allows for stable temperature performance with minimal energy loss. This also means that once a ceramic heater is turned off, the unit stays warm for a period of time whilst the ceramic cools down.
Some ceramic heaters, such as the Sealey PEH Industrial PTC Fan Heater 415V also feature a fan, which quickly circulates the warm air that has been generated.
Ceramic Heater FAQs
How long do ceramic heaters last?
Ceramic heaters have a relatively long service life due to the durability and reusability of the ceramic element that they use in operation. Each individual product has its own warranty, however, and this is best researched before purchasing.
Can a ceramic heater be used for continuous operation?
Many ceramic heating units feature a thermostat and timer to ensure they can run safely for long periods of time, but they should be used in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Compared to some other types of heater, ceramic heaters run a very low risk of overheating due to their stable thermal characteristics.
