Effective Humidity Control With An Air Humidifier
Air humidifiers are an essential solution for maintaining optimal humidity levels in controlled environments. Oftentimes, particular workspaces can become dry and uncomfortable due to processes taking place there or the location. Our selection of industrial humidifiers are designed to increase comfort in spaces where dry air can lead to issues such as equipment failure, damage to stored goods or employee discomfort.
Unlike dehumidifiers, humidifiers work by producing moisture that increases the humidity. The relative humidity refers to the amount of moisture in the air compared to the maximum amount of moisture that can be held by the air. Generally speaking, a comfortable relative humidity rests between 40%-60%. Too much humidity can lead to condensation, and this condensation can lead to an increase in mould or damage to items. In contrast, an area that is too dry can lead to discomfort in the way of respiratory irritation, coughing or dry eyes and lips.
Types of Humidifiers
Choosing the right humidifier depends on your operational needs. There are four different types of humidifiers, each with their own advantages and disadvantages depending on their intended purpose.
Ultrasonic humidifiers are energy efficient and precise, meaning they are ideal for sensitive environments. These machines have either high-frequency sound vibrations or a nebulizer that cause the water to separate into droplets. These water particles are then emitted from the machine, increasing the humidity.
Steam (warm mist) humidifiers can be used in sterile environments. These units have a heating element that boils the water within the tank. As the water turns into steam, it is emitted into the room warming the space and increasing the humidity.
Evaporative humidifiers work by speeding up the process of natural evaporation to add moisture to the ambient air. They blow air through a filter, which is dampened by the water in the integrated tank. As the air is blown through the filter, it causes the evaporation that turns the water into vapor. The vapor is then blown into the room in a cool mist that is around room temperature.
High pressure humidifier systems are suitable for large scale industrial spaces which require uniform distribution.
Choosing The Right Air Humidifier
There are a few factors to consider when investing in an industrial humidifier. These include, but are not limited to:
The size of the area that requires humidification
The required humidity levels
Energy consumption and efficiency
Scalability and integration with existing systems
Maintenance requirements
Energy consumption and energy source

Air Humidifier FAQs
Are industrial air humidifiers energy efficient?
Yes, modern industrial humidifiers are often designed with energy efficiency in mind, especially both ultrasonic and evaporative systems. Selecting the right technology of the right size can significantly reduce operating costs.
Can humidification work with existing HVAC systems?
Most industrial and commercial humidifiers can be integrated with HVAC and building management systems to offer more control.
How often do humidifiers require maintenance?
Typically humidifiers require servicing every 12 months. However, depending on usage level and type of humidifier, regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and hygiene.
