Air Purifiers For Fresher, Cleaner Air
Air purification helps to keep the air fresh and clean. Air purifiers help to achieve this by trapping allergens, pollens and pollutants through a series of filters, reducing the risks or issues associated with them. Many of these units are HEPA filter air purifiers, which remove up to 99.97% of all particles in the air.
Whether you’re managing a commercial facility or improving your home environment, choosing the right air purifier for you is essential for maintaining clean, breathable air. Modern air purifiers are designed to deliver reliable, high performance filtration across a wide range of spaces such as care facilities, retail facilities, restaurants, hotels, dentists, receptions, offices or homes amongst many other different spaces. Air purifiers are often used in addition to other means of ventilation, such as fume extraction fans or dust extraction fans.
How HEPA Filter Air Purifiers Work
HEPA filter air purifiers use High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, activated carbon, or ionisers to trap and remove pollutants like dust, allergens, smoke, pet hair and bacteria from the air.
Air purifiers draw air through the unit using a fan, which then pass through a pre-filter to capture large particles such as dust and hair. The HEPA filter removed small particles such as mould spores, bacteria and allergens. Many air purifiers also contain activated carbon filters, which neutralise gas, odors and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) such as gases from products like paints, fuels and cleaners.
In addition to this, many air purifiers also use UV light or ionisers to kill germs and help particles stick to the filter.
This newly cleaned air is then recirculated back into the area to allow for a more comfortable, breathable atmosphere.
Choosing The Right Air Purifier
When selecting an air purifier, there are a few factors to consider, such as:
The size of the room/area that the unit will be operating in.
The filtration type and other features. Some air purifiers have HEPA filters, whilst others have ionisers or UV light features.
Air changes per hour (ACH)
Noise levels
Air Purifier FAQs
What makes a HEPA filter air purifier different?
A HEPA filter air purifier uses a specialised filter capable of trapping up to 99.97% of very small particles, which include dust, pollen and bacteria. They are more effective than standard filters for improving air quality and filtering.
How often should I replace air purifier filters?
How often filters need to be replaced depends on usage and environment. Typically HEPA filters are replaced every 6-12 months, whilst carbon filters are replaced every 3-6 filters. We offer two different HEPA filter packs for replacement:
Can air purifiers help with allergies?
Yes. Air purifiers are highly effective at removing allergens like pollen, dust mites and pet dander which helps to reduce allergy symptoms.
